Do you carry the Apple iPhone?
No, not currently. It’s the only Apple product family Connecting Point is not authorized for, which is as disappointing for us as it is for our customers. But we’re working to change that.
Does Connecting Point offer the same discounts for students and educators as Apple does?
No. The Apple Store for Education is available solely through Apple’s online site. However, Connecting Point offers a compelling alternative: our 50/50/50 Education Pricing Program. Qualifying college students and educators can save a bundle on a new Mac system.
Why can’t I get real-time product availability, or make purchases directly from your website?
In a perfect world, we’d have real-time information on all our merchandise and prices for both of our stores up on this site. It would also be terrific if folks could purchase products we carry directly from here. That’s been a dream of ours for years – it would be a huge benefit for our customers, especially those who live some distance from our two retail locations.
Unfortunately, an e-commerce site with that level of sophistication would cost tens of thousands of dollars a year (probably much more), and require a dedicated staff and data center to maintain. That’s a little beyond the scope of a locally owned, independently operated small business like ours.
To check on product availability – or for any other inquiry – we suggest calling our toll-free numbers whenever you want to check availability on a product. They are 1.888.245.9861 for the Medford store, and 1.866.594.6889 for the Bend store.
Can we place orders over the phone, and pay with a credit card?
In most cases, yes – especially if we’ve dealt with you before. The potential for fraud is enormous (you wouldn’t believe the phone scams we’ve seen over the years!), so we’ll be exercising due diligence to verify phone orders. Also, for any Apple product, we must have made face-to-face contact with you at some point before we can accept orders by phone. (It’s a contractual thing.)
Does Connecting Point accept outdated or discarded computer equipment for recycling?
Yes, we are an official Oregon E-Cycles collection site.
Is there a charge for bringing in items for recycling?
No, but there are some reasonable terms and conditions.
Do you accept Apple Store Gift Cards?
Yes. They may be used for pretty much any goods or services we offer, except for our own gift cards.
Do you offer classes or training?
Yes, at our Medford store’s Point2Point Classroom | Training Center. We currently offer two monthly classes: an Introduction to iPad class, and a Meet Your Macintosh class.
What about classes at the Bend location?
We’re working on that, but for now, regular classes are offered only in Medford. However, if Bend customers are planning a trip to the Rogue Valley, they are more than willing to take one (or both) of our classes while they’re in town. Just be sure to sign up ahead of time so we can save you a seat.
What about data recovery? Can you retrieve lost photos, files, or other documents from the crashed hard drive of my notebook or desktop computer?
Yes. No absolute guarantees we’ll recover everything you lost, of course, but we’re pretty darned good at this sort of thing. And we have a partnership with an incredible company that can recover files from just about any hard drive, no matter how trashed it may be.
What about recovering photos from a digital memory card?
Yes, we can do that, too.
